Further promoting cooperation relation in the transport sector between Vietnam and Holland

On September 26, at the headquarter of Ministry of Transport, Minister Truong Quang Nghia has met and worked with the Ambassador of Holland in Vietnam Nienke Trooster.

Vietnam and Holland have many opportunities to develop cooperation relationship

At the meeting, the Ambassador of Holland in Vietnam Nienke Trooster said, on cooperation in the aviation field between the two countries, there is a group of Holland’s companies want to focus priority investment cooperation in Vietnam in the next 3 years.

For the maritime field, Holland and Vietnam has longstanding cooperation relation, especially in the shipbuilding field, Holland side will share the difficulties and advantages of the shipbuilding industry in the context of present world’s economy.

In addition, the Ambassador also said, have many Holland’s businesses have been cooperating with the Vietnam’s maritime field. And now, the two sides are promoting relationship to connect between Hai Phong seaport and Rotterdam seaport. In the next time, Holland side also wants to continue to connect other seaports of Vietnam to the Amsterdam seaport.

Besides, the Ambassador said, in the last time, Holland has supported Vietnam quite effective in the training of human resources, and hope that will can continue to support for Vietnam on this in the next time.

According to Minister Truong Quang Nghia the Civil Aviation Administration of Vietnam is actively preparing for the Memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Holland. The Ministers believe that the MoU will be signed on the occasion of Deputy Minister of MoFA of Holland visit to Vietnam in the next time.

In the fields of maritime and shipbuilding, Minister Truong Quang Nghia said, Vietnam has seaports in the South and North, it can receive large vessels. However, the issue of investment, management and operation these seaports, Vietnam expects cooperation and active support from Holland’s businesses.

the attraction of investment into transport infrastructure in Vietnam is still limited. The PPP investment form is a new form in Vietnam. Therefore, Minister Truong Quang Nghia hope that the Holland’s businesses will be interested and participate in investment extensive more.

Ending the meeting, the Minister Truong Quang Nghia and Ms. Nienke Trooster hope and believe that based on tradition of cooperation between the two countries, a visit of Deputy Minister of MoFA of Holland to Vietnam in the next time will open many investment cooperation opportunites furthermore.
