Awarding Medal to ADB’s Country Director and WB’s Director of Catalog and Capital Allocation(Monday, 15/06/2015 10:27 GMT+7)

In this afternoon (15th June), at the head office of the Ministry of Transport, the Minister Dinh La Thang awarded the Medal "For transport sector development in Vietnam" to Mr. Tomoyuki Kimura, Country Director of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) Office and Ms. Keiko Sato, Director of Catalog and Capital Allocation of the World Bank (WB) Office in Vietnam to recognize their positive contribution of to the development cause of the transport sector.

The Minister Dinh La Thang awarded a medal to the Director of catalog and capital allocation of WB office in Vietnam, Ms. Keiko Sato

Speaking at the ceremony, the Minister Dinh La Thang said: For many years, the transport sector has always received great support and assistance from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and World Bank (WB) for the common development of Vietnam, including the Transport sector.

"The generous support from the ADB and the WB in many important transport infrastructure projects, works which are put into operation has contributed to promoting the economy - society of Vietnam. Typically are the Noi Bai - Lao Cai highway (completed at the end of 2014), Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay highway, technical assistance for one door one stop model at some gates of Vietnam and Laos, Cambodia and China; Rural transport 3 project, Mekong Delta transport infrastructure development project (WB5), Da Nang - Quang Ngai highway project, Vietnam Road Assets Management Project (VRAMP), Technical Assistance for Development of PPP investment cooperation in the transport sector ..."- the minister said.

In general assistance of ADB and WB, MOT highly appreciated the critical personal role of Mr. Tomoyuki Kimura and Ms. Keiko Sato. The projects promoted by Mr. Tomoyuki Kimura and Ms. Keiko Sato have been effective exploited, contributing to the socio-economic development and poverty reduction, ensuring national defense and security in Vietnam.

He hoped that, even in any position Mr. Tomoyuki Kimura and Ms. Keiko Sato will continue making contributions to Vietnam in general and to the transport sector in particular.

At the ceremony, in the emotion of receiving a prestigious award given by the Ministry of Transport, Mr. Tomoyuki Kimura expressed his deepest thanks to the Government of Vietnam, the Ministry of Transport, the Minister for the close cooperation with ADB.

Mr. Tomoyuki Kimura hoped that Vietnam transport sector will contribute more to sustainable economic -social growth through the improvement, connection to remote, poverty areas in order to promote economic integration to the area.
