In this afternoon (13rd July), at the head office of the Ministry of Transport, the Minister Dinh La Thang had a meeting with Mr. Tsutomu Takebe - Special Advisor of Japan – Vietnam Friendship Parliamentary Alliance. The meeting also had the presence of Japanese Ambassador in Vietnam, Mr. Fukada Hiroshi.

The Minister Dinh La Thang met the Special Adviser of Japan – Vietnam Friendship Parliamentary Alliance

Congratulating the Minister recently holding the position of Chairman of Vietnam - Japan Friendship Association, Mr. Tsutomu Takebe hoped that with this position the Minister will continue caring and promoting the friendship between Vietnam and Japan.

On this occasion, Mr. Tsutomu Takebe exchanged with the Minister some issues related to the transport infrastructure sector in the area of Japan - Vietnam University.

Mr. Tsutomu Takebe said that the issue of transport infrastructure is crucial in the process of implementing the project. Therefore, Mr. Tsutomu Takebe proposed the idea of applying rapid bus in this area.

Mr. Tsutomu Takebe discussed with the Minister a number of issues related to transport infrastructure sector in Japan - Vietnam University area

Thanking Mr. Tsutomu Takebe - Special Advisor of Japan – Vietnam Friendship Parliamentary Alliance, Mr. Fukada Hiroshi - Japanese Ambassador in Vietnam for visiting the Ministry of Transport, the Minister underscored that in the time Mr. Tsutomu Takebe holding the position of Chairman of Japan – Vietnam Friendship Parliamentary Alliance and later Special Adviser, he made significant contributions to the development of the friendly relations between the two countries.

Regarding Japan - Vietnam University Project, the Minister said that the project was groundbroken on 20/12/2014 in Hoa Lac. Project location is in Hoa Lac Hi-tech Park with connected transportation systems which are built and planned such as Thang Long Highway, Highway 21, urban railway No. 5 Hoa Lac - Westlake, the roads connecting neighboring provinces such as Hoa Lac - Hoa Binh Highway, Vinh Thinh Bridge, VietTri - Ba Vi Bridge…

At the meeting, the Minister also welcomed and appreciated the attention and assistance of the Government and people of Japan in general and Mr. Tsutomu Takebe in particular in the establishment and development of Japan - Vietnam University Project.

"The completion of Japan - Vietnam University will contribute significantly in the development of high quality human resources, strengthen cooperation in the fields of education and technology; further strengthen the friendship of Vietnam - Japan "- Minister stressed.

On this basis, the Ministry of Transport will direct related agencies and units to actively prepare, bring the planned transport infrastructure projects into deployment to form a connected transportation system, facilitate Japan - Vietnam University developing. The Minister also agreed with Mr. Tsutomu Takebe’s proposals on the development of rapid bus in the area in the absence of urban railway system.
