On September 13, on accompanying Prime Minister’s official visit to Democratic Republic of Laos, Minister of Transport Dinh La Thang visited former Lao Minister of Public Works and Transport Sommad Pholsena who is incumbent Minister of Natural Resources and Environment.

Seeing Minister Dinh La Thang at home, Lao Minister of Public Works and Transport Sommad Pholsena was moved with heartfelt sentiments of Leader of Vietnamese Ministry of Transport.

Former Lao Minister of Public Works and Transport expresses his gratitude for Vietnamese MoT’s cooperation and help for the last years, which has made a considerable contribution to development of transport infrastructure in Laos.

In reply, Minister Dinh La Thang affirms that Vietnam always create favorable conditions to help and cooperate with Laos in the transport area as well as for trade between two countries.

Minister Dinh La Thang wishes Mr. Sommad Pholsena success in his new position as Lao Minister of Natural Resources and Environment.

In this visit to Laos, on September 14, in Vientiane capital, Laos, on behalf of two governments, Minister Dinh La Thang and Minister of Public Works and Transport Bounchanh Sinthavong signed the strategic agreement about cooperation on transport for 2016-2025 period, vision toward 2030

Signing the Memorandum of understanding (MoU) establishes a legal foundation of S.R. of Vietnam and D.R. of Laos to take the initiative in planning transport connection between two countries and the region, to assure synthetic development of transport system between two countries in sustainable, modern, visionary direction, to effectively meet the transport demands of two countries as well as to make full use of geographic advantages and natural conditions in two countries...
