After the opening session, the forum focused on discussing two main titles including “China – Indochina Peninsula Economic Corridor Development” and “China – ASEAN Port City cooperation network”.
In his speeches at the opening ceremony, Deputy Minister Nguyen Hong Truong valued significant achievements in ASEAN – China dialogue relationship, stressed the completion of negotiating the ASEAN – China Free Trade Area (ACFTA); appreciated opportunities created by ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) to the business community of related parties and contributed to the regional cooperation and development; highlighted the development of the cooperative relationship between Viet Nam and China in general and the Vietnamese side with Guangxi Province in particular.
Deputy Minister also affirmed that Viet Nam valued the Pan-Beibu Economic Forum and hoped to enhance the ASEAN – China cooperation in order to improve commercial exchanges, facilitation of goods trading, technology developing investment, production capability enhancement, development of transport infrastructure network, education cooperation, people exchange and protection of environment and natural resources.
